A British man who lives in Benidorm has shared a video of the popular Spanish resort’s packed beachfront strip, and he couldn’t believe the state of it at this time of year

Benidorm has long been a magnet for those seeking a cheap pint and a cracking time. That’s precisely why hordes of people descend on the resort each year for stag and hen parties — they know it’ll never let them down, and they’re guaranteed to witness some unforgettable sights along the way.

When one Brit, who’s now based in Benidorm, ventured out earlier this month, he was utterly stunned by something he’d never seen before. Previously, Harry had voiced concerns that tourism was beginning to dwindle in the Spanish hotspot, pointing out that the usual hustle and bustle seemed to have vanished.

However, he’s since had a complete change of heart after visiting the beachfront in recent days, and was left astonished by what greeted him. “Oh my goodness, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this place so busy in May before,” he said.

“It’s absolutely rammed, guys, Benidorm is booming. You cannot even move in this place. Where are you supposed to go? Unbelievable.”

Throughout @harrytokky’s entire clip, every single beachfront bar was packed to the rafters with revellers having the time of their lives. There was even a woman sporting a wedding veil chatting away to her mates.

Harry described it as “absolutely insane,” and “crazy,” asking viewers: “Are you coming out to enjoy the madness?”

People were sprawled across the steps leading down to the beach, dressed in shorts, flip-flops and t-shirts thanks to the glorious weather. He kept walking, remarking that there was “nowhere to go,” and it was “madness,” but confessed he loved seeing the place this busy because it proved that the resort he adores is “booming”.

In the comments section, holidaymakers preparing to head to the popular Spanish resort over the coming days and weeks were delighted to see tourism appearing to bounce back, particularly so early in the summer season.

Benidorm typically draws the majority of its visitors during the peak summer months, yet many travellers appear to be taking advantage of the pleasant weather right now, as well as the fact that flights tend to be considerably cheaper outside of the main holiday period.

Jetting off to Benidorm in May is generally far more affordable than travelling in August, when schools break up and prices surge accordingly.

In May, return flights from London can be snapped up for as little as £80, while in August, the same journey could set you back as much as £350, depending on when you book.

One commenter posed the question: “I’m off there on Monday. Is it shorts weather all day and night?” Despite the video showing glorious sunshine, another user was quick to respond: “Not right now mate, it’s thunder and lightning and raining at the moment.”

That’s the one drawback of venturing to Europe quite so early in the season — the weather can be wildly unpredictable, and there’s simply no guarantee of what you’ll be greeted with upon arrival.
