Calpe Calpe

Calpe is located in the northern area of Alicante province, Costa Blanca, called La Marina Alta, and rests at the foot of the Sierra Bernia mountain range. As you approach Calpe from Alicante you will drive through marvelous uneven streets. The coastline is lined with sandy shorelines and perfectly clear blue seas. There are impressive rock outcrops of an ancient volcanic district, that made the soils exceptionally rich and vital. Calpe is situated on a little promontory, with the volcanic rock the "Penon de Ifach" at its outmost point and that is now a nature reserve.

Calpe town is a flourishing conventional Spanish town well known for it's fine sandy shorelines, it´s port and marina and it´s excellent eateries Calpe has two Blue Flag sandy beaches, which are separated by the amazing 'Penon de Ifach' rock. Even people who haven't been to Calpe will recognize the colossal rock that bulges out over the ocean.

Along the coastline of Calpe are long tiled promenades, which stretch along the beach from one side of the town to the other. Walk along the promenades, from one end to the other, and you’ll get a good workout that will last several kilometers. While walking, check out the lovely beach side cafes as you pass, and take photographs of the stunning ocean views and Calpe rock from every angle.

One of the most fun and best things to do in Calpe, if you just feel like a morning or afternoon relaxing, is to sit at a beach side cafe, and there are hundreds of them, and watch the crowds walk by. You will see thousands of people from all over the world casually ambling by on the promenade, sitting at a beach side cafe in Calpe is the perfect way to see the world go by without moving yourself.
